Vahé asked:

I have to call the local DHS for a phone interview so they can review my case and see whether or not to continue letting me have food stamps. I’m unemployed, and I have ADHD, depression, and anxiety. The thing is, I’m really nervous about my interview. Does anyone have any tips on what can help me relax before I talk to them?
Thanks. It went really well. I appreciate all of your encouragement and advice! It helped!

just relax.Tell yourself that these people are nobody to you so why should you get so worked up over talking to them through the phone? If they were the president then that would be something to be nervous about. But an average Joe like you who is trying to help you? They are just like you are. What exactly are u nervous about? That u will start stuttering and say something dumb? Everyone does that every once in a while. These people work with all kinds of unemployed people everyday so they are not going to think you are a bum or anyhting.Just calm down n realize that one day your life will be over and what did u do your whole life? You were afraid to get out there and live your life so u stayed at home. What kind of life is that?

get better. God bless.

In the years of my anxiety disorder, I tried every type of medication to control my attacks… Nothing worked at all, but about a month ago. I read a review about Joe Barrys Panic Away. I decided to give it a try, and the results were amazing. I managed to be in control of my disorder, in a matter of short time..In my opinion Joe Barry’s method called “the one move” is the fasest working method I have ever experienced in this disease. And now, my didorder is almost gone. I learned to receive the attacks in a completely new way, that makes me able to control them. I hope it works for you too..

It is a known fact that deep breathing helps to relax the mind. I suffer with anxiety and this is what I do when I’m faced with a situation such as yours.

Do deep breathing for about fifteen minutes before your phone interview. Lay down in a quiet room, dim the lights and put on some soft music. Close your eyes while placing your hands on your abdomen. Inhale deeply until you feel your abdomen rise, then exhale slowly. While doing this keep all negative thoughts out of your mind. Try to picture things that you find relaxing and comforting. If you do this for about 15 minutes, I promise that you will feel relaxed… just do not fall asleep or you may miss your phone interview.

You may want to practice doing this beforehand, and see how you feel afterwards. If you do feel positive results from this, use it as a tool to alleviate anxiety in your life. If you do this enough times, you will be doing deep breathing without even realizing it.
